Hello Garage of Seattle Q&A

What is the VoC level from you flooring product?

Once the product is fully cured the VoC level is zero. The products we use are exempt from VoC limits, including in Southern California which has the strictest limits.

Where can I purchase additional accessories and vacuum bags?

Your local Hello Garage has a variety of accessories available for you. Simply call 1.888.59.GARAGE to speak to a Customer Care representative, and they'll get you whatever you need!

What makes your cabinets and shelving different?

Hello Garage cabinets and shelving are made from 22 gauge heavy-duty welded steel that is powder-coated for superior looks and durability. Plus, it's permanently mounted to your garage's framing, which means it's far more secure than the cheaper freestanding units you'd typically see at a big-box DIY store.

What do I have to do to prepare my garage for flooring or storage installation?

Ideally, you should clear everything out of your garage before we arrive. This is probably the least fun part of the project, but it's also a great opportunity to do some organizing and decluttering. On the bright side, you likely won't ever have to do it again!

Is your storage freestanding?

For safety and durability's sake, our storage cabinets and shelving are mounted to the wall via welded-steel uprights that are secured to the studs in your garage. It's a big reason why they require professional installation.

Is SparTekā„¢ polyaspartic floor coating expensive?

Over time, a SparTek polyaspartic floor coating is very cost-effective. Are there cheaper ways to coat your floor? Sure, but you'll likely have to redo them more than once, and they won't be protected by a lifetime warranty like ours. Our professionally installed polyaspartic flooring is guaranteed to last as long as you own your garage. That means it's something you only have to do once.

Is polyaspartic technology really better than epoxy or polyurea?

In a word, yes. That's why it's been the choice of warehouses, factories and other industrial applications for 40 years. Now it's available for residential garages. Plus, only polyaspartic floor-coating technology offers granite-like look and durability and can be installed in about a day.

How strong is your slatwall?

Our slatwall is seriously strong. In fact, each panel can hold up to 115 lbs. at 4 in. off the wall. That means it's strong enough to hold long, heavy items like string trimmers or bicycles.

How much does SparTek flooring cost?

The cost of installing polyaspartic floor coating varies depending on the situation. This includes the size of the area to be coated and the condition of the concrete underneath. Over time, though, the cost often ends up being less than those of seemingly cheaper products. The best way to ascertain the cost is to have your garage inspected by one of our Garage Gurus so they can give you an exact price. There’s no cost or obligation for the inspection.

How long have you been in business?

Hello Garage was established in 2020. But its parent company, Supportworks, Inc., is a private, family-owned business that has home-service contracting roots that go all the way back to 1975 — so this stuff is literally in our blood.

How long does the appointment with Sales Guru take?

About 60 minutes. Our Garage Guru will be your own personal tour guide throughout your journey of garage discovery. The Garage Guru lives and breathes garages. They'll help you think outside that giant car-box to open up the possibilities and give your home that new room that was hiding right in plain sight. How long does polyaspartic floor coating take to cure?

SparTek polyaspartic flooring typically takes about seven days to fully cure, depending on the weather. But it can be driven on after 48 hours.

How do you prep the concrete floor?

Experience shows that removal of the sheer surface layer of your garage floor (along with all the dirt, oil, dust and residue that comes with it) gives the best adhesion. To that end, we grind garage floors with our Lavina 30GE for a superior coating installation.

How do I clean my new floor?

One of the many benefits of polyaspartic flooring is that it's super-easy to clean. Most things just squeegee right off. For anything that can't be removed by water alone, we recommend Simple Green® household cleaner. Don't worry, though - we'll leave you an info sheet when we're done that gives you all the information you'll need to maintain your floor.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes! We offer a Lifetime Warranty on our polyaspartic floor coating. That means your floor is covered for as long as you own your home. Learn more about our warranty, here.

Do you install epoxy, polyurethane or any other floor coatings besides polyaspartic?

No. We've done a ton of research, and we've found that, by far, a 100 percent polyaspartic floor coating solution is the best way to go for a combination of superior looks and longevity. For that reason, we leave the epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea to the other guys.

Do you have other products beyond garage flooring and storage?

Yes! We offer a variety of products that enhance and improve garage life - including our super-powerful and convenient InstaVac™ vacuum system, garage lighting and more.

Can I install a DIY garage floor paint or polyaspartic coating?

Unfortunately for DIY'ers everywhere, 80 percent of garage floor coating success comes down to surface preparation. We have the specialized tools (we're talking big grinders and industrial vacuums) and the expertise to get it done right the first time. We ensure your concrete is free of damage, cracks and abrasions that cause other methods to fail. We also test the moisture reading of your concrete slab with a professional tool to ensure the material will adhere properly.
